This Privacy Policy explains how LockIn: Block Apps to Study ("LockIn", "the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use the app.

LockIn helps you select distracting apps, set focus schedules and allowances, and use proof-based focus sessions so you can start studying or working before scrolling.

1. Information We Process

1.1 Focus settings and progress

LockIn may store your selected focus days, lock times, app allowance, proof preferences, focus-session status, and progress summaries. This information is used to run the focus experience and show your own history and insights.

1.2 Screen Time and app-blocking data

On iOS, LockIn uses Apple's Screen Time APIs, including Family Controls, Device Activity, and Managed Settings, so you can voluntarily select apps or categories to limit. Apple privacy-protects selected app identifiers. LockIn uses the local selection tokens, schedules, and shield state needed to apply your choices.

LockIn is designed for self-management. It is not intended to monitor another person without consent, and we do not sell or share your Screen Time selections for advertising.

1.3 Proof information

If you choose proof modes such as a book, notes, desk setup, or location proof, the app may request camera, photo, or location permission. Proof information is used to help confirm that you started a study or work session. We aim to keep proof handling privacy-first and limited to the focus feature.

1.4 Account, purchase, and support information

If account creation, subscriptions, or support contact are enabled, we may process the information needed to provide those features, such as your email address, app-store purchase status, support messages, and basic account state. Payments are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play; we do not receive your full payment card details.

1.5 Diagnostics and product improvement

We may process limited diagnostic or usage information, such as device type, operating system, app version, crash logs, feature interactions, and anonymous identifiers, to keep the app stable and improve the product. We do not use this information to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

2. How We Use Information

• To run app blocking, focus schedules, allowances, and proof-based sessions.
• To show your own progress, streaks, summaries, and settings.
• To provide account, subscription, support, and restore-purchase functionality where available.
• To debug crashes, prevent abuse, and improve the app experience.
• To comply with legal, tax, platform, and App Store obligations.

3. Third-Party Services

LockIn may rely on platform and infrastructure providers to operate the app, including Apple App Store, Google Play, Expo, Supabase or similar backend providers, analytics or crash-reporting providers, and subscription-management providers if enabled in the shipped app.

These services process information only as needed to provide app functionality, purchases, diagnostics, analytics, or support. We do not sell personal information.

4. Data Storage and Retention

Some LockIn data may be stored locally on your device. If account sync, subscriptions, or backend features are enabled, some information may also be stored securely by our service providers. We keep information only as long as needed for the app, support, legal, or operational purposes.

You can remove locally stored app data by deleting the app from your device. If you have an account or contact us for support, you can request deletion using the contact information below.

5. Your Choices

• You can choose which apps, schedules, and proof modes to use.
• You can revoke camera, photo, notification, location, and Screen Time permissions in your device settings.
• You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information associated with you.

6. Children's Privacy

LockIn is not directed to children under 13 and is not submitted as a Made for Kids app. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us.

7. International Users

We are based in Norway. If you use LockIn from another country, your information may be processed in Norway, the European Economic Area, the United States, or other countries where our service providers operate.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as LockIn evolves. When we do, we will update the effective date and post the revised policy on this page.
